Medicaid Changes
New Medicaid Requirements Starting January 1, 2027
You may have seen or read that Medicaid has new changes. As a CareFirst CHPMD member, these changes may affect you, or they may not, since they will only apply to some adults (ages 19 to 64) in Maryland.
What is changing?
These changes for some Medicaid members include:
- When you must renew your plan – every six months instead of every 12 months.
- Completing work requirements – 80 hours each month of approved activities, such as working or volunteering.
