Mommy Meals Program

A healthy and customized home-delivered food, nutrition coaching and health education program for members who are 20–28 weeks pregnant.

Here is what you’ll get with Mommy Meals:

  • Custom Nutrition Coaching: Expert advice from a dedicated nutrition coach.
  • Education and Resources: Learn how healthy eating benefits you and your baby.

Baby Steps Program

Baby Steps will help ensure you have the healthiest pregnancy possible. You’ll get assistance with:

  • Scheduling OB visits
  • Connecting you to community services such as WIC, SNAP, Mommy Meals, and more
  • Arranging special appointments or tests needed for a healthy pregnancy

You will automatically be enrolled into this program once you become pregnant. Your first prenatal visit should be in your first trimester of pregnancy or within 42 days of enrolling with CareFirst CHPMD.

Baby Steps $105 Gift Card

As a new parent, you will get a $105 gift card to buy baby health and safety items like car seats, strollers, baby sleep clothes and more.

After your baby is born, the gift card will be mailed to you.

Prenatal Visit Services may include:

  • Early sonogram to confirm your pregnancy and due date
  • Chance to hear your baby’s heartbeat
  • Blood work to determine pregnancy risk factors

Bright Beginnings $125 Gift Card (Pregnancy Education)

Get a $125 gift card if you go to at least one class about childbirth, breastfeeding or infant care. After you attend a class, call Member Services at 410-779-9369 or toll-free at 800-730-8530 (TTY: 711). Tell them the name of the class, the date and the location.

The OB team will check your attendance and send you the gift card.

Pregnancy Care

The Family Planning Program helps reduce low birth weight babies and lowers the risk of death for babies and mothers. It also helps you decide how many children to have and when to have them.

Family planning services include:

  • Teen pregnancy prevention
  • Reproductive health screenings/exams
  • Colposcopy
  • Birth control methods
  • Sexually transmitted infections (STI) screening and treatment
  • Permanent sterilization (must be aged 21 or over)
  • Other related education and counseling services
