Medicaid Changes
New Medicaid Requirements Starting January 1, 2027
You may have seen or read that Medicaid has new changes. As a CareFirst CHPMD member, these changes may affect you, or they may not, since they will only apply to some adults (ages 19 to 64) in Maryland.
Do these changes apply to you?
Whether these changes apply to you depends on your Medicaid eligibility. Most people will not be affected.
These changes may not apply if you are:
- Under 19
- 65 or older
- Pregnant
- Disabled
- Caring for a young child
- Sick with a long-term condition
