Now that you’ve applied for a Medicare Supplement plan, what happens next?

  • Check your email for a receipt of application. This confirms that we received your application.
  • Once you’re approved, we’ll send you an email with confirmation.

After you’re approved, look out for a few pieces of mail:

  1. Your CareFirst Member ID.
  2. A postcard notifying you that your plan documents are available online through My Account (see below).
  3. Your first bill, along with instructions for enrolling in automated payment.

My Account is a one-stop shop for your plan:

  • Check the status of your payment, claims and any outstanding balances.
  • View and pay your monthly bill.
  • Sign up for automated credit card payment.
  • Go paperless and stop worrying about mailing in your payment.
  • Access your member-only benefits like SilverSneakers, savings on hearing aids and more.
