835 Remittance Advice Transaction Enhancements for NASCO Claims
CareFirst will install an improvement to the 835 Remittance Advice Transaction for NASCO claims. The claim level billed charge in the CLP03 field was not reported correctly when late charges were applied to the claim. As a result of the change, the claim level billed charge will now include the sum of the original charge and the late charge. The individual service lines will also include the correct information. This change will only be applied if the late charge is processed as an electronic claim by CareFirst and received by CareFirst on or after January 29, 2010.
What this means for providers:
- Improvements to the 835 Remittance Advice Transaction for NASCO claims are in compliance with the X12 Implementation Guide.
- Clients will be able to automatically post the 835 Remittance Transaction with less manual intervention.
