Select State of Maryland and Washington County Public School Members Get New ID Cards
Effective July 1, 2008, CareFirst will issue new identification (ID) cards to select members of the State of Maryland and Washington County Public Schools. This change is for administrative purposes only and does not impact physician networks. The ID cards will display a new identification number and prefix. Members have been advised to use the new card immediately.
This change impacts the following members:
*State of Maryland

FYI: BlueChoice medical ID cards, prefix and ID numbers have not changed and should continue to be used.
*Note: The P.O. Box on the reverse side of all State of Maryland membership ID cards for claims submission has not changed; however, providers are encouraged to use the Kentucky P.O. Box information communicated in the Nov./Dec. 2007 issue of BlueLink available in the Providers and Physicians section of carefirst.com. If claims are submitted to the Maryland P.O.
