Problem with NPI Submissions Sent Electronically from March 23 - April 3, 2007
Providers who submitted their National Provider Identifier (NPI) information to CareFirst using the online submission form between 7:15 p.m. on March 23, 2007 to 3 p.m. on April 3, 2007 will need to resubmit their information. A system error occurred and any NPI information sent electronically during this period was not received by CareFirst, even though a confirmation number may have been provided on your submission page.
If you selected the “Submit” button on the submission form, please check the printed copy of your NPI submission form for the date and time stamp on the right-hand side of the page. If your date and time falls between 7:15 p.m. on March 23 and 3 p.m. on April 3, you should resend your NPI information to CareFirst. Or, if the first 5 digits of your confirmation number start with 07083 through 07092, you should resend your NPI information. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Providers who used the online form during this time but selected “Print only” in order to fax or mail their information are not affected.
Please remember that you will receive a final confirmation from CareFirst via e-mail or by mail when your NPI information is received.
