Overview of CareFirst Dental Plans

Dental plans available to CareFirst and CareFirst BlueChoice members include the Regional Dental plan, The Dental Network (TDN) for CareFirst BlueChoice members, the Federal Employee Dental Program (FEP), and dental plans supported by NASCO (National Account Service Company). The D.C. Traditional (GHMSI) dental plans are phasing out, with all members converting to Regional Dental.

Reminders:
- Since launching Regional Dental in 2004, CareFirst has consolidated the MD. Dental plan and D.C. Traditional Dental plans into one uniform dental product. Members previously covered by these two plans are now covered by Regional Dental, or will be upon the next renewal date of their current dental plan.
- Membership cards can change at any time. The cards displayed here are just examples to illustrate the different dental indicators.
- The indicator code dictates where you should send the claim and what phone number to call for service assistance.
- The CareFirst Dental Manual contains detailed information for providers about dental policies, procedures, and methodologies.
