Recognizing and Rewarding PCPs
To support high quality care, CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield and CareFirst BlueChoice, Inc. will provide recognition and rewards to primary care physicians (PCPs) who take concrete steps that encourage and support optimum care and better outcomes. By partnering with Bridges to Excellence (BTE), we hope to promote the delivery of safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable and patient-centered care.

We are sponsoring a 3-year BTE pilot program that provides funding to reward physicians caring for patients who are our members.

Rewards are based on objective, evidence-based measurement criteria independently developed by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) for BTE.
