Changes to the Preferred Drug List
Effective July 1, 2008, Celebrex, Ortho Evra, Vytorin and Zetia have been removed from the preferred drug list because other drugs have been proven to be safer and more effective. Celebrex, Ortho Evra, Vytorin and Zetia will now be Tier 3 (non-preferred) drugs, meaning that you will pay a higher copay. Please talk to your doctor about generic or preferred drugs available to treat your condition. Previously, we had notified members and providers that a generic version of Prevacid would be available at that time as well. However, the generic version has been delayed, so Prevacid will remain a tier 2 or preferred drug until further notice. Related Resources:
