Lot Recalled - Neurontin 100mg Capsules

On February 22, 2005, Pfizer, Inc. voluntarily recalled one lot of Neurontin (gabapentin) Capsules 100mg.  Pfizer, Inc. indicated that a mechanical failure occurred during the manufacturing of this lot, resulting in some bottles containing empty or partially filled capsules. This affected lot was available on the market between October 1, 2004 and February 24, 2005.

Members currently taking Neurontin 100mg received a letter asking them to contact their dispensing retail pharmacy to determine if they received the affected product. If a member has received the affected product, they should contact their healthcare provider.

The unused quantity of the affected lot number can be returned to the dispensing pharmacy and an appropriate credit will be issued.

Physicians also received notification of this recall by mail along with a list of their patients taking the medication.
