CareFirst Presents Migraine Prevention Web Seminars

September 25, 2007

CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield presents the first in a series of quarterly web seminars on Migraine Prevention. By attending, you have the opportunity to make a significant, positive impact on your health and productivity. Each web seminar is free of charge and will last approximately 60 minutes, consisting of a 45-minute presentation followed by a question and answer session.

Why should you attend?
Migraine is a chronic, debilitating condition that is under-diagnosed, under-treated and misunderstood. Approximately 30 million Americans suffer from migraines and less than half are properly diagnosed with the condition.1

Migraines can take a significant toll on your health. Consider the following:

  • Migraines most commonly occur between the ages of 30 and 49, a time when people are actively involved in the workforce.1
  • From a treatment perspective, more than 70 percent of respondents reported having frequent and/or disabling migraines and may be candidates for preventive treatment.1
  • 50 percent of migraine sufferers surveyed experienced moderate to severe disability due to the condition.2
