CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield Names Andrew F. Sullivan Senior Vice President |
| CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield has selected Andrew F. Sullilvan to fill the role of Senior Vice President for its Consumer Direct Administrative Unit.

BALTIMORE, MD (June 12, 2008) – CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield (CareFirst) has selected Andrew F. Sullivan to fill the role of Senior Vice President for its Consumer Direct Administrative Service Unit (ASU). CareFirst's Consumer Direct ASU serves a key market segment, generating $2.2 billion in revenue for the not-for-profit insurer. Sullivan will oversee 350 CareFirst employees which support 189,000 contracts.
"Andy joins CareFirst at a time of major change in our industry," said Chet Burrell, CareFirst President and CEO. "The individual consumer market is critically important to CareFirst and I am confident that Andy has the skills and experience to strengthen the value proposition we offer our members."
Sullivan arrives at CareFirst after working for Cigna Corp., from 2001 to May of this year, assuming his role as Senior Vice President on June 1. A graduate of the United States Naval Academy, Sullivan holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He holds an Executive MBA from the University of Delaware. Sullivan and his family are residents of the Wilmington, DE, area.
