CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield Names Chief Actuary, Promotes Five to Senior Vice President |

OWINGS MILLS, MD (August 13, 2008) - CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield (CareFirst) has named Kenny Kan, FSA, CPA, CFA, to the position of Chief Actuary. Kan will provide executive leadership on matters related to underwriting, pricing and industry trends to maintain the organization's solid financial standing and assure that CareFirst is compliant with all regulatory guidelines.
"The Chief Actuary for CareFirst serves as a key member of the senior management team," said Chet Burrell, CareFirst President and CEO. "Kenny brings a wealth of experience and talent to the position."
In addition, the following individuals have been promoted to the position of Senior Vice President:
- Dennis Cupido, Large Group Administrative Services Unit
- Pamela Deuterman, Federal Employee Programs Administrative Services Unit
- Jack J. Nelson, Small Group and Mid Market Administrative Services Unit
- Glenn Rothman, Centralized Shared Services
- Maria Harris Tildon, Public Policy and Community Affairs
"These promotions are part of an internal restructuring designed to further improve our ability to meet the needs of our members and customers," added Burrell.
