November 20th Wellness WebEx Presentation - Kick the Habit with a Worksite Smoking Cessation Program

We know that when it comes to health care, you probably have similar goals as ours - to keep costs low and your employees as healthy as possible. As you may know, CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield holds monthly WebEx presentations on health promotion and wellness.

Our November WebEx will focus on developing a workplace smoking cessation program. Meg Rothenstein, a CareFirst Health Promotion Specialist, will start out with a review of smoking trends and their affect on the workplace. She'll discuss ways you can assess your population to identify appropriate programs to produce the best results.

When it comes to ideas for implementation, you'll walk away with a list of programs and resources you can use for your workplace efforts, including:

• The My Care First smoking center,
• CareFirst health education brochures,
• Free educational materials from non-profit organizations,
• Activity ideas,
• Sample workplace policies and non-smoking contracts, and
• A myriad of free resources to help your employees quit smoking.
