Maryland Health Insurance Partnership Subsidy Program
For some Maryland small businesses, the cost of health care just got a lot less expensive. Through a newly introduced program offered by the State of Maryland, employer groups that meet certain eligibility criteria stand to receive a subsidy of up to 50 percent off of the annual health care premium.
The Health Insurance Partnership, a program offered through the Maryland Health Care Commission has allocated this subsidy to help Maryland's small employers provide health insurance to their employees.
CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield now offers three subsidy-eligible plans:
- BlueChoice HMO HSA Open Access
- BlueChoice HMO HSA Opt-Out Plus Open Access
- BluePreferred PPO HSA
All three of CareFirst's subsidy-eligible plans combine with a Health Savings Account, so employees can pay their out-of-pocket medical expenses on a tax-free basis.
In addition to significant cost savings, CareFirst's subsidy-eligible plans offer a full array of benefits, combined with one of Maryland's largest provider networks to ensure that your employees get the care they need when they need it most.
Coverage in one of CareFirst's subsidy-eligible plans begins as early as October 1, 2008. State funding for subsidies is limited to $15 million in the first year, so contact your CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield licensed broker now for more information to enroll in the Maryland Health Insurance Partnership program.
