July 31 Wellness WebEx Presentation - Creative Wellness Strategies with Limited Resources

We know that when it comes to health care, you probably have similar goals as ours - to keep costs low and your employees as healthy as possible. In 2008, CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield will be conducting monthly presentations on health promotion and wellness.

Last month, we talked about how to plan for the types of wellness programs that will be effective for your worksite. However, many of us who are passionate about implementing worksite wellness programs have few resources to get started. Our July WebEx will help you carry out your wellness strategies with limited resources.

Did you know?

  • The American Lung Association has a quit line and free online tools and resources,
  • The American Heart Association offers a MyStart! online tool where your employees can track their activities, distance traveled and what they’re eating, and
  • The American Diabetic Association can provide you with a 'Message in a Box' with resources to increase awareness of diabetes risk factors.

Meg Rothenstein, a CareFirst Health Promotion Specialist, will discuss these and other valuable programs and resources during our July WebEx. She’ll also talk about how to implement health risk assessments, screenings and evaluations with limited resources. In addition, she’ll provide a quick overview about the communications materials and health education brochures that CareFirst offers you at no cost!
