March 27 Wellness Presentation for Employer Groups

The Building Blocks of a Health Promotion Program

We know that when it comes to health care, you probably have similar goals as ours – to keep costs low and your employees as healthy as possible. In 2008, CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield will be conducting monthly presentations on health promotion and wellness. 

The March presentation will teach you how to build the proper infrastructure for a successful wellness program. Meg Rothenstein, a Health Promotion Specialist at CareFirst, will talk about the following:

• How to capture senior level support,
• The importance of a wellness committee,
• How to recruit members for a wellness committee,
• The role of middle management in promoting worksite wellness programs, and
• The impact of corporate culture in promoting healthy behaviors. 

These free presentations provide you with the opportunity to learn about what health promotion and wellness programs are all about, why companies invest in these programs and how you can start developing a wellness program of your own. Our Health Promotion Specialists conduct extensive research to put together these presentations so that you can start to see the value in promoting healthy lifestyles at your worksite. 

Participants will include employer benefit administrators, health promotion advocates, wellness ambassadors or company executives.
