Other affiliates include Preferred Health Network, a managed care organization; CareFirst Administrators and National Capital Administrative Services, offering third-party administrative services and claims processing for self-insured employer groups; CareFirst Insurance Agency, Inc., offering life, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, disability products, long-term care and flexible spending accounts.

CareFirst also is affiliated with two physicians groups -- Potomac Physicians Practice Association, a group of independent primary care physicians who serve more than 30,000 prepaid HMO members and fee-for-service patients in the Baltimore/Washington area, and Patuxent Medical Group, a group physicians practice providing care in the Columbia, Maryland area since 1969.
